Farrokh has over 15 years of professional and research experience in the water, energy, and environmental engineering areas. His area of expertise included renewable energy programs, LFG collection systems, soil and groundwater contamination assessment and remediation, water quality control, feasibility study, risk assessment, and project management. He is currently a project manager at the County of Orange. He is providing engineering and environmental compliance support for the active and closed MSW landfills in Orange County, California. Before the public service, he was a senior engineer and project manager at a consulting engineering company, AECOM, where he led an expert team of individuals in multiple oil and gas projects in Southern California. Farrokh has managed portfolios of projects with budgets above $1 million per month and has been working directly with federal and state regulatory agencies including EPA, SCAQMD, DTSC, water boards, sanitation districts, and local city and county agencies. He has a Ph.D. degree in Water Resources Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. He is also a Registered Professional Engineer in the states of Kentucky and California.
